Jesus our High Priest

Who is our High Priest? Jesus Christ is our High Priest. The high priest is not there for God’s benefit. God set the high priest in place, God gave us the high priest for our benefit. The high priest represent all the people unto God. That is the reason Jesus had to become a man, because He needed to represent us.

The awesome thing about Jesus becoming a high priest is when Jesus rose from the dead God said “You are a priest forever” (Hebrews 4:14-10:18) He will be a priest forever! When we are all in heaven He will still be the high priest.

He is the high priest after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrew 5:10). What does MELCHIZEDEK mean? (Melchizedek is an old Canaanite name meaning “My King Is [the god] Sedek” or “My King Is Righteousness” (the meaning of the similar Hebrew cognate). He is the KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. He is an expert in making people righteous. When Melchizedek first appear in Genesis we find only blessing not cursing, the first word form Melchizedek’s mouth was ‘’ blessed be Abraham’’ the second word was’’ blessed be the most high God’’ his mouth proclaims blessing and not cursing. His hands bring blessing bread and wine. This is the Melchizedek grace priesthood.

We are no more under the law; we are no more under the old priesthood!

In the picture you will see the garment of the priest in the Old Testament. This garment was used under the order of Aaron but the principles are now the same except the order has changed, the order is Melchizedek’s order. Don’t think Jesus is wearing this today, God made this so that we can learn from the Old Testament.

When Jesus is looking at the Father in heaven all the gems on the priest (breast plate) representing the 12 tribes of Israel is now representing you and I. You are on Jesus’s heart!

In Exodus 29:4-8 you will see that this is a picture that Jesus was anointed before he died at the cross. He had no sins to be cleansed off.

Psalms 133:1-3 behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity, it is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the bread, the bread of Aaron running down on the edge of his garments.

This verse shows that when Jesus was anointed the oil rundown His head down His beard and onto His body (gemstones) we are anointed same as Jesus is. The devil is smart, God high-priestalways blesses the head, beard and body (Head is the Pastor, beard is the leaders of the church and body is the church members) God has an order in doing things. The devil wants to stop the blessing right at the head! The devil wants to dry up the blessings that you can’t receive it. Pray for your Pastor’s and leaders.

The blue rope: (Exodus 28:31-32) God instructed that the hole where the head goes through must be large; the reason is that the garment must not tear. This was very imported to God that the high priests garment must not tear at all. We can read more about this in Leviticus 21:10.

The blue color in Hebrew is very interesting, the blue is called – tekheleth from ‘’kahlah’’ (perfection, completeness)

Let’s see what happened when Jesus was arrested and brought before the high priest of Israel: the high priest was a corrupted high priest. Matthew 26:62-65…….. Then the high priest tore his cloths and said “blasphemy”! He was actually proclaiming a symbolic gesture. The high priest was tearing off the old order off priesthood. The old order of Aaron is gone and the new order of Melchizedek has come. He didn’t realize he was giving in to the new High Priest(Jesus Christ)

But Pastor Lydia He was bound, yes he was bound so that we can be FREE, he was smitten so that we can be healed, He was rejected that we can be accepted by God. Jesus brought a new order of Grace a New Testament of Grace

Hebrew 7:12 for the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also change of the law. There is a change of priesthood therefore there is a change of law! We are no more under the law we are under grace.

The order of Aaron says that every soul that sin must die, the order of Melchizedek says you will not die because I died for you!
